SAF Instant Yeast is a premium fast-acting agent that works 15-30% faster than other brands. It is also more resistant to cold water. In most recipes there is no need to dissolve the yeast - just add it to the other ingredients! This 1 lb. bag contains approximately 378 tablespoons - enough to last a long time! Makes wonderful raised breads of all kinds.
SAF Instant Yeast is vacuum-packed in a mylar bag. When sealed, the bag should feel as hard as a brick. If the bag is soft, the seal has been broken and the yeast needs to be used.
For greatly increased shelf life, we recommend storing SAF Instant Yeast in the freezer, especially after opening.
Baker's tip: If your bread tastes too yeasty, it generally isn't because you used too much yeast - it's because the water used in the dough was too warm!
